New golfers
Never swung a club, or swung one badly for twenty years. Either way you're welcome, and nobody's going to make you feel like you suck. That's the book's job.
Or call 702-994-4811. You'll get Shaun, not a front desk.
The first three lessons
One: contact. Grip, setup, and hitting the ball before the ground. You'll leave hitting it in the air, which is the whole first goal.
Two: the short shots. Chipping and putting, because they're half your strokes and the fastest thing to get good at. Also the fastest way to stop being nervous on a course.
Three: on the course. Three holes with Shaun, playing from the forward tees, learning where to stand, when to hit, and how to not hold anybody up. The etiquette lesson nobody gives you.
Price
I don't own clubs.
Fine. Shaun brings a loaner set to the first lessons, and will tell you what to buy, and more importantly what not to buy, when you're ready.
I'm embarrassed to go to a range.
Everyone is. That's why the first lesson is at a quiet hour at Shaun's teaching location, not a crowded public range. Nobody's watching, and after one hour you'll be hitting it well enough not to care.
How long until I can play with my friends?
Three lessons gets most people onto a course from the forward tees without slowing anyone down. Being good takes longer. Being welcome in the group doesn't.
