PAT prep
Fewer than three in ten pass the Playing Ability Test on a given day. Shaun failed his first one by eight and passed his second by sixteen, seventeen days later. The difference is a plan, and this is it, in person.
Or call 702-994-4811. You'll get Shaun, not a front desk.
The six weeks
- Week one: the audit. Your last ten scorecards, your doubles, your real miss. Target math for your PAT site.
- Week two: the bogey game. A plan for every hole on the test course, built from your dispersion, not your hopes.
- Week three: the short game that passes. The chip to the fat side, the lag putt, the bunker you never enter.
- Week four: on course, nine holes. At the PAT site if we can get on it. Playing the number, not par.
- Week five: the afternoon body. Fuel, heat, the tired miss, and the second-round plan.
- Week six: nothing new. Rules that cost strokes, the night before, and the first tee.
Price
Green fees for the on-course lesson are extra. PGM students and apprentices only; this isn't a general lesson package. The guarantee applies to the first PAT you take after finishing all six weeks.
Not ready for the program? The book is $20 and passthepat.com has a free target calculator.
Why a coach who failed it
Because he knows both drives home. Boulder City, April 2025: scratch golfer, no plan, no sleep, 164 against a target of 156, while a 9-handicap in his group passed on the number. Revere, May 2025: 71-71, 142, medalist by fifteen, with the plan that's now a book. Nothing about his swing changed in those seventeen days.
Most PAT coaching is swing coaching. The PAT isn't a swing test. It's a decision test with a 36-hole body test attached, and that's what six weeks with Shaun is built around.
